Historical and Cultural Value on The Banknotes Part 1

Did you know that every banknotes has distinctive features that makes it special? Depends on the country (or continent) of origin, denomination, safety features, and inflation rate, the value of banknotes may be varied according to forex traders and fanatic collectors (that's me!).

The most popular banknotes used worldwide, of course, US Dollar. The renowned greenback and black-and-white observe made it easily recognizable. For years, people thought that US Dollar is lack with safety features, unlike most of the banknotes available in the market. However, greenback has the state-of-the-art safety features.

Greenback has unique features on its reverse. For example, $1 shows the unfinished pyramid and the great seal of the United States. Both shows Masonic symbols, from the underground association who responsible for establishing the States.

Often the observe of the banknotes shows the most important figure(s) of the nation. Turkey, as an example shows the first president, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk on the banknotes since 1928, with exception during presidency of Mustafa İsmet İnönü, which the Turkish banknotes have the portrait of himself. The latest series of Turkish lira shows the notable Turkish such as Aydın SayılıCahit ArfArchitect KemaleddinFatma Aliye TopuzBuhurizade Itriand Yunus Emre.

Somehow, as the economic worsen, the banknotes were becoming ridiculously high in number, but extremely low in value. The recent crisis in Zimbabwe shows that the instability on politics and economics can disturb the value of banknotes. In year 2009, Zimbabwean Dollar was plunged in value in Herculean scale. 100 billion Dollar was the daily limit transaction, and barely enough to buy a loaf of bread. Even ATM's cannot handle such an extreme numbers. Finally, the usage of the dollar was ended in 12 April 2009.
